With the recent news of India beating Pakistan at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 that was held in Dubai on February 23rd comes an exciting thing to talk about, which is actually making cricket a home-to-home thing. It is something all Indians who love to watch and play cricket can relate to. Yes, we are talking about the “Meta Shot” which is a mixed reality smart bat.

Meta shot allows its users to play cricket with anyone across the globe using its meta shot bat and app which runs on all android as well as on all ios devices and has a very user friendly interface. As recently seen on Shark Tank India, the founders said that they were able to sell 18,000+ bats worldwide which actually left all the judges of Shark Tank India amazed.

Talking about the backstory of meta shot was a simple idea of one of the founders who really had a thought of playing cricket with his friends but he could not as all his friends were living apart or abroad, so he really wanted to build something that could connect all of his friends and they could play cricket together in real time. The founders said they are also planning to develop something similar for baseball and pickleball. Initially the founders’ ask were for ₹80 lakhs for an equity of 1.5% at a valuation of ₹58 crores, which later got settled down with a joint offer from Anupam and Vineeta for ₹1.6 crores at 5% equity at a valuation of ₹32 crores. It took almost 2 years for the founders to have a deep R&D for metashot before developing the softwares, firmwares and launching it online.

At present, metashot comes with 8+ multiplayers and single player modes which the users can get to play after logging into the metashot app. Talking about the monetization model of metashot, the pure revenue is made through the VIP Pass which gives the players access to different cricket grounds worldwide, with that metashot is generating a revenue of ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 every month. The founders said that their app has a DAU of 800, WAU of 2,300 and MAU of 6,000 with an app rating of 4.6 on android and 4.3 on ios. While talking with the sharks one of the founders said that their future idea for metashot is to come up with a team concept where the players can choose to bat, bowl, to lead (to be the captain of the team) and to field.
